Knowing the tide status will provide you with a sense of relief or a sense of urgency. If the tide is at the top or outgoing, then you have plenty of time to receive help from a good Samaritan with a tow strap. Or good Samaritan(s) could push your vehicle out of the sand by using human horsepower.

If your vehicle is near the tide line and the tide is incoming or at the bottom, then we recommend calling the professionals at Ocean Shores Towing and Automotive Repair for immediate help to recover your vehicle.

Most cars today have a small rectangular or round plastic pop out on the front or rear bumper. Remove that plastic pop out and you will see a bolt hole for a towing eye bolt. The towing eye bolt is usually located where the spare tire tools are located or with your tool kit. The towing eye bolt is a long bolt with threads on one end and an eye on the other end. Screw the towing eye bolt into the bumper. Some of the towing eye bolt threads are left hand threads, but most are right hand threads.

If there is no towing eye bolt, look for a hook point under the front bumper area. If you can’t find either of those, then look for an oval shaped hole on the side frame under under the car. That oval shaped hole is usually located underneath the vehicle about 18 inches behind the front tires.

You can also hook both A-ARMS if you are using a winch or are able to gently pull the A-ARMS. Do not JERK PULL the vehicle unless you are using a kinetic energy strap.

Front wheel drive cars that are buried in the sand should be pulled forward if possible, to avoid damaging the under liner and front grill area of the vehicle.

There are many good Samaritans on the beach and if the tide is in your favor you should not need to wait long for a good Samaritan to arrive. Ask your good Samaritan if they know how to hook your car; so as to prevent damage.

If the good Samaritan helping you does not know where to hook your vehicle and they are not able to free your vehicle using human horsepower, then you may opt to call the professionals at Ocean Shores Towing and Automotive Repair (360) 580-7242.

WATER DOG by Chi

Amidst the roaring waves and salty mist,
Lies a place where cars are left to twist and twist,
The ocean’s wrath knows no bound,
And many cars end up stranded, not to be found.

But amidst the chaos and the wild,
A tow truck emerges, calm and mild,
With a winch and crane, it approaches the shore,
Ready to save those cars, forevermore.

As the tow truck pulls them out,
The cars are battered, filled with doubt,
But the mechanic’s skill is not in vain,
He repairs them, and they’re back on the road again.

Through sand and surf, they’ve been through hell,
But thanks to the tow truck, they’ll live to tell,
A story of resilience and might,
And the power of fixing what’s broken and right.

So let us honor the tow truck’s task,
To rescue cars, no matter what’s been asked,
For it’s a symbol of hope, a beacon of light,
In a world where chaos and storms take flight.
